Biohumus (vermicompost) is produced from organic waste using Californian Red Worms in a natural composting process. The product is an organic fertilizer.
The content of NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) in dry matter of vermicompost is >1.2,>0.6,>0.7.
It is incorrect to believe that NPK is the only set of nutrients required by plants. Other elements, such as zinc, copper, magnesium, etc., are also important. Biohumus is a living fertilizer that contains a full range of nutrients.
Unlike synthetic mineral fertilizers, Biohumuss is not only a fertilizing substance, but also an ecosystem that is able to regenerate. Biohumus can be used to improve and restore the soil. Humic substances boost the immunity of the plants. The content of beneficial organisms in biohumus is so large that they inhibit pathogenic organisms which cause a variety of infections. The beneficial organisms are so numerous that the pathogens are unable to find a root to parasitize on and suffer from hunger. As a result, they lack nutrients and eventually die.
Plants should not be planted in the pure humus. The fertilizer should be mixed with garden soil or peat in ratio 2:1. The obtained substrate will be suitable for growing indoor plants, producing seedlings, etc. Plants can be fertilized locally by pouring humus in a hole just below a seedling, in a furrow below a seed or below a seed potato through a fertilizer supply tank of a potato planter.
Use of biohumus increases the yield up to 25%. Clearly, that also depends on the weather and other circumstances. Vermicompost is more efficient than manure. The nitrate forms in biohumus are ready to be absorbed by the plants immediately., The soil acidity can be reduced by improving the soil with a slightly more alkaline biohumus.
